Wider is better!?!?!
Hey guys, I need a little help. I own a 1993 F2 and desperatly want to fit up a wider rear rim. I found a 900RR rear rim for sale on e-bay but I am not sure if it will fit? Got any ideas?
Thanks
Also, if any one knows who makes some ride hight adjusters for my bike please let me know, it seems they are hard to find unless you own a GSXR!

i would assume for more aggressive stance and better handling.
i wanted to too on my katana , the rear tire is only a 130. its hella skinny .
i talked to some other guys and they said it will handle like *** with wider tires.
they said the handling is much more precise and quicked with the skinnier tires. ???
i dont now but it stil looks like a ***** bike with these tires.
im getting a set of avons soon and dont know what size i wanna get yet

So does anyone know the answer to my original question???
I will debate why I think having a wider tire is better if anyone wishes but I really need to find out what rim will fit my F2.

go ask in the Honda forum there. Wider is not better IMO for the bike you have.

do you want to run straitline drag races or make good fast turns? If handleing is important, the wider tire will upset the balance of the bike in a turn by adding more rearend lift when on an angle (tire edge). The rest of the bike was not engineered for this.

A CBR F3, does this have the remote shock?? also there was a mod to the rising rate linkage i think plus the shock length was changed as it got worked to hard. Either way there is enough handling to fry anyones brain as the frame design is so right. Upgrade around the bike but dont throw a rim on it and expect transformation, just doesnt happen like that
Well it is actually an F2 but F2's and F3's all came stock with a 160/60/17 rear. The truth is that I am not a very agressive rider on the street and I will probably be selling the bike soon anyway. I just wanted to fit up a 180 on it so that it would LOOK a little more agressive.

f2's and f3's have the same tire size from the dealer, BUT the f3's have a 1/2 inch wider rim. 4.5" vs 5". I should know, I put a set of f3 chrome wheels, f3 plastics and an 98 ss prepped f3 motor into my 94 F2......
The only f2 pieces are the swingarm, and the frame. Anywho.....
If you want to fit a 900rr rim, you need to either make a custom swingarm, or use a 900rr swingarm. I have seen a 900rr swingarm on a f2, but it takes alot of modding the swingarm to work, and looks like *** if not done right.
You can pop an f3 rim into the f2 swingarm, and go a little wider say 170, but 180 is too much for that rim. Also the wider you go on rear tire, the more it affects your handling.
But those fat tires look cool, and make people think you need the extra rubber to keep it down.
Save yourself the hassle, get a 900rr if you want a wider rear tire.
