Rear brakes- changing pads
Anyone here have trouble getting rear calipers back on after changing brake pads? Need help, car on jack stands and track event coming up this weekend...

did you push the caliper piston back in to provide clearance before putting the pads back in? in order to do this, either use a needle nose pliers and turn it clock-wise(using grooves on piston) or use channel locks to grab the piston, be careful not to damage the boot.
Thanks for the reply - I wound up using a hex wrench (lengthwise) that fit into the groove and turning clockwise - worked like a charm.
My problem was not knowing that the pistons need to be turned - was trying to push them in straight. DOH!

Join the club. Only about 90% of the people with rear discs do this the first time. The funny thing is that my neighbor somehow got it to work. I think they pushed so hard that they slowly turned back in. He said it took about 20 min per side
