Could you run a B series motor backwards if it was rotated 180 degrees in the bay?
Stupid question, I know. Let's say for some reason you wanted to put a B series motor in a bay but rotated 180 degrees (like a K series). Could you reverse the plugs and run it clockwise?
What part of the motor is specific to a particular rotation (besides the vanes on the water pump, and the cams)?

i would think so that there is less travel for the intake and exhaust. im not sure, maybe

new motor mounts, and in order to go forward, you would have to be in reverse, correct me if im wrong
that would be pretty cool though, to be able to go 100mph in reverse, just dont turn.

If you ran the motor the opposite rotation, you'd go forward, not backwards...

Let's say the purpose was to swap it into a different car (non honda / acura)
So the crank and cams determine rotation? I can see the cams, but how does the crank determine rotation?

Just swap the plugs around, ya go for it, just swap the plugs, but not the wires or there location on the cap...LOL</TD></TR></TABLE>
I was referring to the plug wires.

but with the way the transmission turns in the B series motor, if you were to face it backwards I believe Lost and Found would be correct. However, if someone knows of a way to correct that then I guess it would be possible. Why not just get a K-series to alleviate that?

I used to run with a backwards B18c way back in 91'. We did it because Kriss Kross wore their clothes backwards, so we thought "hey! Why not put our motors backwards too?" And so we did.
"Because inside out, is wickity, wickity, wickity, wickity, wack!"
