Default what should idle boost gauge vac be at???

i am about to street tune my car in 5 hours at redzone performance and was wandering if my autometer boost gauge is reading the correct readings...at idle vac is at 10-11 i can't really boost on it, it bogs

i am running a GOLDEN EAGLE vacumm box tapped off of the brake booster and the boost gauge is tap to this box too....

any one know off the top of their head how much vac i should have

ps my car also barely idling of a base map does that affect the vac? but it doesn't fluncate

any help would be appreciated

yeah between 20-22psi is normal at idle. are you sure you drilled the holes out all the way on the GE manifold?

If it's struggling to idle due to richness the IACV will be almost wide open so vacuum will suffer. I've seen 5-10" on a struggling engine before. Mine idles about 18" now.

A few setups that Ive worked on, mostly SOHCs that were running smaller snails idled @ 15 in hg. Before boost they idled @ like 18 or 19. They were small turbos that were on the motors so they were practically boosting @ idle. lol.

Get it tuned that should help,

Blaze

earlier this morning was at 10-14 beacause my stupid *** ran the vac from the actuall turbo nipple straight to the GOLDEN EAGLE box and that simulated a leak... its runs pretty solid will post dyno chart up on i finish street tuning...which is say friday...stay tuned
