Default ugh, they scratched my rims!

Hey folks,

After all the hard work this summer, I ordered a set of TD Pro Race 1.2s for my xA. After a saga of UPS losing two of the rims, I finally got them and went to the tire shop to get the tires mounted. I dropped of the tires and rims and went back home. A few hours later, I went to pick them up. The 3 of the inner center bores were scratched, one wheel had the dimple-scratches from the mounting machine, and one had a little nick on the lip.

I'm not too mad about it, and I was not going to complain because I don't want to deal with it. I'm just afraid the aluminum is going to rust or discolor. Should I take care of the exposed aluminum with touch-up paint (Testors lol)? Leave it alone?

Thanks

You should go back and complain and make them buy you new rims, or at the least fix them. That's BS.

Too much of a hassle, and I don't have the time to bitch about it. Although, I did go back because one of the wheels wasn't balanced right. After 70mph, my steering wheel vibrated crazily. I brought it in. One of the guys, Chris, is a real swell guy. While he was checking the weights, I told him about the scratches. I was like, "I'm not looking for any compensation, but I just want to let you know that the guy who mounted the tires scratched my rims." He was sorry and said he'd get his best guy to rebalance the wheels...which turned out to be him lol.

While he was balancing the problematic wheel+tire (which were off by "2.50" on both sides of the rim), the guy who "counts the money" came out and told me, bitterly, that he couldn't do anything about the scratches as if I was gonna sue him or something. Afterwards, I took it for a test run and dang! I thought the wobble (w/ steelies+tires) at 90+mph was a drag problem. With the newly rebalanced wheels+tires, I was going 90-100mph and the ride was silky smooth. I went to Walmart and bought some Testors flat black and a brush...I'll touch them up when I wash the car.

It's the Family Tire off of Pines and Flamingo in Pembroke Pines, Florida. I asked around and they got nothing but rave reviews from locals. If I could have done it myself, I would've.
