JDM ITR b-pipe question
First off, i did look in the FAQ but i am a little confused by what i read.
As of now, i am in the process of compiling an exhaust system together. So i have my mugen header and am going to get a T1R resonated test pipe (JDM length i believe) and am looking into a Spoon N1 axle-back. My main comfusion is with the b-pipe.
First off, I was set on getting the T1R b-pipe. Although today I found a JDM ITR b-pipe for a great price. I really could save a lot of money by getting the JDM ITR b-pipe. I guess im just worried about all-around fitment and if the JDM ITR b-pipe is going to be restrictive. The T1R is 2.5 in but in a topic in the FAQ, it was said that the JDM ITR b-pipe is not 2.5 in.
Please help solve my confusion. Im going to search a little more and see what else i can find on this topic. Thanks a lot guys

i happen to have a jdm itr exhaust sitting in front of me & its 2.5' , im no expert but id imagine the baffle would be a bit more restrictive than an aftermarket one & it weighs a ****'in ton, im using a buddy club pro-spec cat back but i think i burnt the internals out of it as it was glowing red the other night & is wining at 2k rpm, any idea's?
no experience with buddy club, but my guess (dont quote me on this) is maybe an exhaust leak somewhere throughout the system.
my original plan was to do the following:
mugen header - T1R resonated test pipe - T1R b-pipe - Spoon N1 axle-back
i know the OEM b-pipe is not going to be as light/free flowing as the T1R, but I thought i would post the question, because i found a used one and by getting that i can save a few hundred bucks and if the difference in performance is slight, im all for it
lets keep um rolling

funny because the OEM exhaust that came off my car (a JDM ITR) is only 60mm, or just under 2 1/4" and all the specifications everywhere quote the JDM ITR exhaust as being 60mm as well.

hmmm, this is why i was getting confused by the other thread. People were shooting out different sizes left and right and started throwing me off. I PMed Jon N in Norway, because he is running the setup that i want to run. He has the same header as me, a T1R test pipe and oem b-pipe with a perfectly centered Spoon N1. Im still waiting for his reply.

i just weighed a mugen bpipe compared to a stock jdm R bpipe and the mugen is only 10oz. lighter. The mugen is 17lbs 5oz, the oem is 17lbs 15oz.
I read before that the T1R muffler and bpipe is 38.6lbs. Im guessing the piping is very similar in weight to the oem r piping.
I just measured the inner and outter diameter piping on a few bpipes i had laying around..
Mugen Twin Loop - ID = 2" (50.8mm) OD = 2 1/8" (53.97mm)
OEM R (JDM) - ID = 2 1/8 (53.97mm) (measured at bottle neck) OD = 2 3/8" (60.3mm)
Tanabe Racing Medalion - ID = 2 1/4" (57.1mm) OD = 2 3/8 (60.3mm)
for the price, the oem jdm r piping isnt to shabby!
