Default need help picking one of my 2 motors to build ls motor or v-tec motor? build starts monday!

well here is my problem right now i have a 2000 gsr man 65,000miles in my car witch about 4 months ago my car was a 96 ls auto ( did a conversion it cost me 4,000$ total for the conversion) i also have a ls motor i bought for 500$ that is a higher mileage motor but runs good. if i use the ls i still have a good motor to save or sell cause it is in perfect shape. basically my question is the v-tec motor worth taking apart & waisting a good motor or just build the ls motor? also will the v-tec be able to produce more power, or not enough worth worrying about?

i am looking at building a motor that will run mid 11's with a power around 400whp also still street legal. im putting almost 3500$ in the block, 3500$ in the turbo i think, 3000$head, 1000$ comp setup. plus all the other components. this is parts only do the prices sound about right for a reliable build?( i know their are alot of parts to choose from witch change the $$$ but i cant remember exactly what parts we are using.

to me it seems like alot of money. cause people say they produce alot of power on stock blocks but their motors cant be all that reliable or on the edge of failing no?

all advice & info will be greatly appreciated cause im running out of time!!!!!!

im running a stock sleeved ls block w/ a vtec head....the ls heads are alright but the vtec heads just flow more...youll have a harder time making you power goals w/o copious amounts of boost...w/ the vtec head youll get their faster...id say stick w/ you current gsr motor...or hybrid it ls/vtec...best of both worlds...

and to get into the 11's id hope youd have some slicks and beefy axles....thats a 1g right there

Reliability: Tuning > Expensive parts. Personally I'd say go with the GSR. If you have the cash, start with a better base.

Are you serious? For what you want, you could half the money into it and be safe. Benson block work, not very expensive. The head could suck that much money though. Big cams, springs/retainers, porting, valve job, combustion chamber work. I'd say use some money to do supporting mods like fuel upgrades & such. $3500 for the turbo - I'd won't say cheap out on the snail, but put some money into the intake/exhaust manifolds too. $10k can basicly buy it all IMO. For that, you could probably make past 30psi safely and with very high-rpm's.

go with the gsr. i'd say just build the bottem end and get some valves/springs/retainers for the head and call it a day. no need getting PnP. stick with your gsr cams too. use the rest of that head money on traction bars and maybe a cage if u go that fast...
