Bent Valves - Just got my compression test results - what do you guys think.
Ok I just got my test results from my compression test and here are the results.
1= 255
2= 156
3= 256
4= 257
My question is I know I have a bent valve, the car idles rough and cuts off after awhile and there is a unburt fuel smell in the exhaust.
my question is do I need just new valves or do i need more. The car does drive fine and there is not a real big loss in power at the low end rpm's. I had to drive it home about 2 miles, and didn't rev it over 3 grand.

how did you bend the valves? i think you may have a burnt valve unless you overrevved or had a broken timing belt
did you try to put a cap full of oil in the cylnder and do a compression test on it again ?that will tell you if it is bad rings

Ok so here's what I found. I pulled the head and everything looks allmost normal. the exhaust valves on cylinder 2 are pitch black and the exhaust port there is a thick carbon buildup. all the other ports are good no buildup and the valves are a light brown. the piston has no marks and the walls look good. the exhaust valves look like there have a
slight lift in them verses the rest, but its minimal like the thickness of 3-5 sheets of paper. by the way i missed shifted 4th to 3rd. is there anything else I should worry about.

Yep, thats about right.....I had zero compression with the valve open that much though. I'd check the piston but you should be fine with just replacing those 4 (i would replace all 4). BTW, what kind of pistons/compression are you running to get 255?
I will post a picture in a few minutes. Ihave a jdm sirg-2 10.6:1 pistons. 2 layer spoonsports headgasket.
