knock knock...
Engine knocking...can anyone give me some information or advice. Yesterday I was driving and went to enter the freeway. Car seemed fined until I realized it took forever to get up to 80mph and 4th looked like it was 43094732miles away. I exited back to the streets and heard a knocking, so I pulled over popped my hood and tried to listen. I noticed my car was also running very hot for only being out about 10 minutes. I thought it might be just a valve or valve spring but as I tried to go home it got worse and my car stalled. I was able to restart and get home safely. Car starts up fine and runs at idle and doesnt knock until about 2500 to 3000 rpm. Would appreciate if anyone out there might have the slightest clue as to whats going on. fyi car is a 96 ls, pretty much stock.

It doesn't matter the timeframe in which you changed your oil. One month could be 8000 miles or 20 miles depending on how much you drive and rag on your car.
Change your oil again...add 4 quarts if you don't know.
