Gutted Interior Painting
My rear interior is stripped and im looking to paint it....i've removed the tar and im wondering how it would turn out if i just cleaned it then scuffed it up with some sand paper, and sprayed down some duplicolor?? Im not looking for a proffesional paint job....just something that looks pretty decent. better than the shitty state the paint is in now. any info would help. thanks.
thinking about doing this myself my advice though i would paint it to match the color of the car. or basically just put a new coat of the original color but im trying to decide whether or not i want to do this i have a 95 civic hb (white w blu interior) and if i take out all of the rear interior and tar 1. how much weight would i lose and 2. how much could i sell the interior for?
It would give you about the same quality as what it would with any other project. It's all about the prep work and quality of the spray job. I would seriously suggest some skateboard deck tape or something of that nature in the footwell, because that slick painted surface will be darn slippery if your shoes have any hint of moisture on them...
I just used some duplicolor and it turned out fine. I did two coats up front and one in the back.
The skateboard tape is a damn good idea too, but how would get it into the grooves??

Just scuff it up and clean it out good. If you want to get some painters tack cloth, parts stores usually sell the ****..

This is a good idea. I've contimplated Spraying two small squares of Rhino-liner on my driver and passenger floor area. The deck-tape might be a much cheaper solution. I'll give it a shot.
