Prelude DRAG RACERS....what wheels do you run?
im an accord owner but i like to get buck nasty with it and pull on preludes like nobodys business....
now that thats out of the way, i need a little help choosing some new drag racing wheels.
i would love to be able to squeeze some 13"s on there but that isnt happening due to the booty tie rod being in the way. some 14" wheels would be great for some 24.5x8.0 slicks but i cant find a wide enough 14" wheel in the 4x114 pattern. that leaves me with 15" wheels but i need a good offset so i can clear them. i sold my 22x8x15 MTs on some 15x7 wheels just recently and they were OK at best for my application. i need some more meat under the front and i dont want to have to phone up Bogart for some $$$ Drag On Flys or something.
so, any budget 14-15" wheels out there that will work with 24.5x8 slicks w/out spacers?
if no one helps me out, i will be forced to believe its because you fear the power of the SOHC Accord.

if i wanted to spend that kind of money on my bucket, i would just get the Bogarts.
its all about the budget baby.

I run Bogies all around. You're limited with 15" maybe some of those steel rims will work since you need a 8" wide rim.

I use the stock 15 inch rims wrapped with bfg 225/50/15 dr's
If you insist on using slicks I would go with a smaller wheel size.
You can find 14's with the 114.3 lug pattern on prelude s models.
I dont know if they make anything smaller that that with that lug pattern.
good luck

good idea although they are too narrow and also the offset is way off. i wish it were as simple as just throwing on some 14" steelies but the 8-8.5" slick would be rubbing my steering knuckle something nasty.
Weld Magnums....... 15x8 4.5" bolt circle
U need to run a 1/2" spacer as well
BTW: you won't pull on me

those wheels are off the richter but they are worth more than my bucket. those are my favorite drag wheels of all time but a little out of the budget.
on second thought, i may just break down and get the magunms and the skinnies for the back!
hope the wife doesnt mind! of course, the wheels will look good when im baking off the 24.5's pullin on preludes like whoa!

Rota's are my best friend. I have a set of Circuit 10's wrapped around Parada Spec 2s for daily driving and I'm planning on getting a set of slipstreams with BFG's on them for track use.
i have some steel style wheels for my car 15/8 i use 26/8.5/15 mt's on them in lug 4x114, but the compeny stop making them , summit use to sell them i dont have brand near me ill get it for u later tonight
DLB, are you running spacers and new studs? i think i remember the wheels you are speaking of, they arent circle track wheels by chance are they? i know you can get those in some nasty offsets.
if i go with a common rota like a slipstream or something, i will more than likely have to run a spacer to clear the steering and suspension components. i dont think a 40mm offset will be enough stick out...

i'm running diamond racing 15/8 steel wheels with a 1/2 in spacer and arp extended studs. i think they were like 40bucks each.
flip, did you order yours straight from diamond racing? also, do you know which style/type of wheel you have? i looked at the website and they have many choices.
also, i saw some 14" wheels on there....i may have to check those out. i can still get the 24.5's in a 14 and have a lower rotating mass.

yup got them direct from diamond racing. i have no clue as to what model they are though. i chose 15's because there's more slicks available for 15's then 14's
ok, one more question and then i will leave everyone alone. where is the best/cheapest place for spacers and im assuming they should be steel and not billet? the reason i ask is i can get billet spacers all day long but i dont know how they would be in a drag racing app.
