i think my sun/moon roof motor is going out. when i press the button, it sounds like it's trying to open but it doesn't. my buddy had the same problem with his CRX and said it was the motor. how hard is it to pull the motor out? has anybody had this problem?

pop it up with your hand..then greese/ clean up the assemblys...

 

Clean the window seal as well

 

takeout the roof liner inside your car. to take down the sunroof assembly is a two man job due to its weight. ived taken it out before by myself and it was a damn mistake. once the the liner is off everything else is pretty easy. just use your best judgement.

let me know if you need a sunroof motor assembly i have one available.

 

i've tried greasing the track w/ wd40. any suggestions on what kind of grease i should use? i was looking at the roof liner, do you have to take off the rear panels to get to it?

a light grease (look at the Helms and see what it asks for)

WD40 is solvent and mineral oil - wouldn't use that.
