Well after searching for over a month, I found my beater. I looked long and hard and everything I looked for from 88-91 Hatches to 88-91 CRX's to 92-95 Hatches were all way too expensive or not worth the price due to condition.

Today I lucked out (so I hope). Got a dark grey 1992 Civic CX hatch. Pretty clean condition. 148,000 miles, a few dings and scratches, but nothing major at all. I think it needs a clutch and thats about it. It shifts fine, runs fine, a/c blows cold...perfect for driving to work and any other place I dont want to park my R.

Just sharing my news... Oh ya, and I found it at a little used car lot out in Bum F*** Egypt.

Mod it? Why would I want to do that?

(anyone have a EX / Si cluster laying around? What about a front strut bar or some lowering springs? or even the Si SOHC engine/tranny?)....I mean, its a beater, but I want to have it look and handle some-what nice....

 

RatedR : whos so happy he forgot he has his stock ITR suspension at home ready to be put in the civic...now what parts does he need to make it work?

Any chance his stock ITR exhaust will bolt on some how???

92-95 4doors all day long...cheap...also check used car lots that might not advertise on autotrader...4 doors are everywhere.

TJ- who has already hit 48,000 miles in his 2000 R and is glad he has a beater now.

 

TJ - yeah, I checked autotrader, but just about every car is a LX or EX or it's an automatic. I need a DX in white, navy or black in manual.
