My buddy Amish was down at a Bball game in New York and when he came out, his car was nowhere to be found. The car was stolen in the Parking lot. His car was the ****, for those who were at the Philly meet you guys saw it. He had a JRSC and just put the JDM conversion on with carbon fiber hood. If anyone sees this car it was a 98 CW ITR, I am sure by now the parts have been distributed already. It sucks that our cars aren't safe anywhere. Makes me worry now. Death to all Thieves! Anyway stay safe and park safe. No more downtown philly stops for me. Later.

We aren't even from NY we are from PA. He doesn't even travel there often and this crap happens.

I saw a JRSC for a Type R for sale on Ebay yesterday

 

why the **** do people continually take their cars into these HIGH THEFT areas, and LEAVE THEM there for extended periods of time? its one thing to drive into those areas, but its another thing to LEAVE your car there.

good luck to your friend on getting another ride. hopefully he sticks with VTEC.

Notice he said "by percent." I'd bet he's right. Sure lots of Accords and Camrys get stolen, but there's like 20 million of them on the roads.

Only what, 4-5k Type R's were sold here? And think of how many you see stolen on here, and I bet we only have 10-20% of owners on h-t

Moral of the story guys...don't own the car if you can't keep it safe. I feel for all of those who have had their cars stolen, yet when you park them on the street and do mods like JDM front end, CF hood, etc and leave them in the open, it's like putting a "Steal Me" sign on the side.

If I lived in a high crime area or had to park the car out (or often drove it to such places), I would not own an R.

That JDM front end conversion could have bought a 1992 Civic. Not trying to be mean or anything, but think about it. This is not a flame, but it did need to be said.

Sorry to hear about the loss, but taking an ITR to a Baseball game is just plain STUPID!

 

He said by percentage. Meaning, the number of ITRs and the amount stolen is probably a higher percentage than the amount of Camry's and Accords stolen each year...

 

Your buddys car was in a lot that he paid to park. If so thats a serious problem. I figured those would be safe from thieves in NYC. Thats the only place I parked mine when I went into Manhattan.

No, you need to do something that people will be able to see and that the person will be ashamed of. If you are missing a finger or two (like a middle finger and a pinky), then people will know that you're a theif.

ITR + parking for more than 2hrs in NYC = stolen

As much as I love NYC, this is a fact.

amen to that. no need to show that **** off in a place like NYC. plus you risk gettin that **** banged up from crazy taxi's, delivery trucks, and pot holes the size of texas. the risk is just not worth it.
