Default Odometer fraud...How to tell actual milage?

How can you tell if the odometer was switched out for a lower milage odometer?

If it was is there any way to tell actual milage on the car/ engine?

Thanks

It would be nearly impossible to tell. Just run a carfax and look at the different stages of reporting. Hope that helps.

Yup the only way to do it is carfax. If inspections are required in the state they will usually post up the amount of miles that was on the odometer at that time. That is how I caught an odometer fraud after my first civic was stolen and I was looking for a new car.
