HELP ASAP PLEASE!!!!!!!
im working on the front right now, and im trying to get my drivers side strut out, im putting on coilovers, and i got the big bolt that connects the damper fork or whatever to the control arm out. now i need to get the fork of the god damn strut, and i can't, i cant get the bolt in the back it is completely seized, is there anything i can do to get the fork off the strut. help pleaaaassseeeeee!
I"m assuming you're talking about the pinch bolt on the upper side of the fork? I had trouble with that one too but with enough WD-40 and a GOOD amount of leverage I got it out.
Try a to fit a long pipe over your wrench to increase your torque. I wouldn't try any impact tooling if it's that stuck, you might end up snapping the bolt. Good luck!

You also might want to try and give it a good whack or two with a hammer after a couple coats of break free. Don't be wild and start bending stuff but a few good taps usually helps break the bolt free.
Make sure you re-install the lower fork bolt while your trying to break the upper pinch bolt free. Otherwise you will just be twisting the shock around without putting any real force on the pinch bolt.
You can get PB Blaster at WalMart for $4, and that eats rust like crazy. Good luck...
