5th gen. gas mileage
Just wondering what kind of gas mileage do 5th gen preludes get in stock or close to stock trim. Just picked up an auto and got a little over 300 miles on the tank, which seems kind of low.
well, when I drove to cali, i was doing 85 with the A/C on, and I only pulled 320 out of the tank. Mine is the suck *** auto too. Its the reality, they only get about 27 -28 highway. this is no me too or del slow, thats for sure.

When i first got my SH, i got around 325-350 for a tank of freeway and intown driving. Now i'm getting much lower. Probably around 250-275. I only have intake and exhaust, but I am lowered on coilovers w/ 17's. I believe I will get better mileage once i tune a lil bit. Still pretty good on gas mileage though. I forgot to mention that I hit VTEC a couple times around town when the civics try to get brazy

I get typically between 24 and 26mpg with about 65-70% of that being highway miles. Car is a '97 base model with 5sp and has intake, header, p&p head with oversized valves and upgraded valve springs ... everything else is stock (wheels, suspension, etc ...)
my 99 ss got just over 400 on a round trip rockhill to charleston to myrtle beach and back around again all highway i thought that was pretty good and you know what my o2 cel went away
I've been getting between 275-300 a tank in my 99 base. I just changed teh plugs & wires, and added a CAI. I try to shift early, and not get on it, but when I do get on it the H22 chugs the gas. It's almost like you can watch teh gas needle drop once the cams change over.

I get about 300 miles/tank, but I don't let it hit E, I fill up at about 1/8 tank, which is always right about 12 gallons. So 300 miles out of 12 gallons is 25mpg. I don't drive easy either. Best I've got with the SC on there was a trip to Florida from Ohio, a mostly steady 80mph (4K rpm) and I got about 365 miles out of a tank (28-30mpg).

I'd guess roughly similar numbers for an automatic.</TD></TR></TABLE>
It's 21/27 for the ss.
I never pay attention to my mpa or average miles to my tank. Can't be that bad shifting at 2,500-3,000 most of the time though.
