im new to the forum. i am taking the msf course in oct and been browsing around for some protection gear.
i went to hahms today in anahiem to try on some helemts. i was trying on the XL helemts by shoei and noticed that its IMPOSSIBLE to put it on with piercings on my ear.
how do you guys (the ones with piercings) solve this problem (besides taking it off.)

Only one person attempted to answer this guys question. You post ******
I used to have 4 holes in each ear. I had industrials in both ears, it was a bitch to put the helmet off and on, I started putting on a doo rag and it helped a little bit (makes the helmet slide on a little better). It was still a PITA so I took the industrials out, I wanted to ride more than I liked the piercings.
Now I just have the lobes (2 in each ear). I put the helmet on normal, but when I take it off, I sort of push the cheek pads out of the way so it does not totally rub my ears. Helmet goes on and off twice a day, everyday, no problems. HTH

What's the problem you're having?</TD></TR></TABLE>
the helmet "pulls" the plug down, my piercing is not "clearing" the helemt, and it just pulls my ear down.
that helped a lot backlask

edit- i got my ears pierced in dec
right after i stop working at the country club

yeah helmets all have different fits. arai dont fit like suomy, suomy dont fit like shoei, shoe dont fit like hjc, etc. just keep trying different helmets until u get ur fit.

WOW, did you just get them pierced? I got quite a few different piercings in my ear's and I've never had a problem with getting my helmet off and on. Even with my earphones, I can manage to get it off and on with ease, maybe you just need some practice.
If you can't figure out how to get a helmet on and off with piercings then maybe you should not ride, or take out the piercings!

i dont think that a little issue as small as having piercings should stop be from a high school dream...

i have my ears pierced and i used to have a problem with my helmet snagging the earings. what i do is when i put the helmet on or take it off, i pull the two straps at the bottom out so it'll clear my ears a bit and then slide the helmet off. another thing that helps is to wear a bandana with it slightly covering over your ears so that way it folds your ears in a bit for more clearance.
if all else fails, wear bandaids over your earings.

Pssh little earings are nothing with a helmet. Try taking off a helmet with 5/8" holes in each lobe. I used to have a real bitch of time taking my helmet off when I raced motocross with huge plugs in each ear.
lol and i thought sneezing in a helmet was bad when your on the freeway
you know the ones taht sneak up on you when ur hands are on the throttle. so w/ my left hand i cumble around trying to lift my visor up and i dont make it in time and theirs spit on my visor. Then i put my hand back on the handle bar and tap the horn. hahaha
