Default Mixing Sway Bars

I was wondering if it is ok to match sway bars. I am considering getting a tanabe rear sway bar and neuspeed front sway bar, because that will give me a good handlign setup and will save around $150 over going all neuspeed or all tanabe. Is it bad to match the bars? What about only getting the tanabe rear bar and using the stock front sway bar?

Thanks, Jordan

Your car will self destruct with different brands of sway bars.

Normally I would not touch this with a 2 foot yardstick <G>.
You will do much better to get yourself a "real" bar for the REAR from Neuspeed, Suspension Techniques, or maybe Eibach. I won't diss Tanabe-but they are not a spring company and have not done the same amount of research. You do get what you pay for regardless of generation. The rear is wher you want to start as it will have an immediate impact on handling. If you still need a front bar-then so be it. If cost is a major issue then get the Suspension Techniques BARS and use both.

ST bars do not work on a 4WS car... which is what i have.

Also does eibach make sway bars for preludes?

your dealing with a tough issue here, first of all, front swaybars are made simply because people "think" they need them.. you don't, trust me, stick with stock.. Get a just a rear swaybar, what it does is help overload your outside rear tire on corners, and helping break traction sooner (don't worry, you won't get snap oversteer).. Prelude, along with other FWD cars understeer, and getting just a rear swaybar help aleviate this problem..

Find out who makes a rear sway for your car, and just get that, DO NOT get a front swaybar...

Thanks Corey. Now it comes down to Neuspeed rear sway bar or tanabe (i have a 92-96 Prelude Si 4WS, so no ST).

Neuspeed Rear bar is 25mm $329
Tanabe Rear bar is 25.4mm $225

Firstly, does anyone know if the tanabe comes with the end brackets like the neuspeed does? Also would the extra 4/10th mm make a difference? And corey, have you used either bar?

Thanks, Jordan

Yes, the extra .4 mm will make quite a large difference.

Well, In most cases yes.. But you also have to remember, it all comes down to the rigidness of both bars.. While .4 mm is indeed thicker, it may be hollow, or made with a different type of steel, to allow it to flex more, also, Neuspeed comes with the beefy brackets, which helps maintain stiffness... basically, the stiffer bar, the better..

Go with the Neuspeed, its a proven brand, with kickass brackets
Tanabe may be a good bar as well, but I didn't even know they made them until you said something about it..

But in saying that, I love my 120$ ST bar.. And its 25mm/solid..

i say go with tanabe. i had both front and rear, and they rock. i noticed a great deal of difference. i don't think you can go wrong with any tanabe products.
