Default Crank pulley bolt too tight!

I have a 600/700 ft/lb 1/2 drive gun at work. Do you guys think it will get my pulley bolt out. I tried this evening with a long breaker bar and tried to hold the pulley from moving with a punch through one of the pulley holes and against the pan rail. I broke an impact socket and bent the punch and the bolt didn't budge. Any suggestions

take the flywheel cover plate off and stick a punch in one of the wholes in the flywheel, wedge so its against the tranny, then turn your crank pulley , if you dont have the right punch try a bolt and thread it into one of the holes.

most definitely or just stick a screw driver through your flywheel.

Is the bolt reverse pattern?

My brother's got an 89 DX hatch with the 1.5l in it and he can't get the bolt out.

Yikes! He's been at it for days now with breaker bars, air impacts, and it still won't come off. He pulled the start to use a large screw driver to keep the flywheel from turning, but it's still stuck. Any tips, other than a can of gas and a match?

This tool is used the removal of the pulley bolt .
You use a break over bar to hold the bully bolt and the hexagon shape on the pulley is where this tool comes into play.Yo place the break over bar on the bolt and place on the frame of the car and the tool uses the pulley itself to break loose the bolt.
It does take some effort but it will break lose this design is what Honda Dealers use to loosen the bolt.
If you dont want to buy the tool just take to the dealer and have break it loose , then loosly tighten it back up.

I had my car in gear (5th), the brakes mashed to the floor and I took my breaker bar and pushed down with my feet, bam, off it came.

Thanks guys! I'll try and see how it does, maybe get the tool if I can find it locally.

I'm guess AutoZone doesn't loan that specific tool?

remember the most ft/lbs its supposed to run at a max (Z6) will be 126 with a torque wrench, most other Hondas are below the 126 the Z6 ive found is the tightest....so i have been using that #.

just a reminder for when you re-install.
Oh and get a new key and bolt from Honda its like $5 total and they changed the design of the bolt last year or so.

lol, that sucks!!!

One of my Honda's (the 88) we were getting ready to take the motor out and when we tried to get the hub nut off (CV axle nut) it would not come off. We tried every thing. My boy that weighs about 250 tried standing on my breaker bar and it broke (the bar). Finely I sprayed some WD40 on there and pulled out my 1/2 driver put the air compressor to 100psi and worked that bitch till it finally broke loose.
