ok today i had honda make me a new key (since i lost my other one)

and it doesnt work all the time, only if you put it in just right, its like the end of key is a wee, very very tiny bit too short, so im wonder if any one else had this problem. and if would take it bake and try and have them redo it?

 

You can try and get a tiny de-burring file and work the key a little with it. Its probably the edges of the key from being cut. If anything ask them to make you a new one.

 

have the same problem, i put both keys side by side then one has teeth where the other one doesn't, needs to be smoothed down a little bit

 

if you got the key cut at the dealership the KEY is not the problem, we cut them by VIN #, its an exact copy of the original length and cuts.... what you should do is...

lube the lock cylindar with wd-40 or preferably white lithium grease. should work then... common problem we run into at the dealership with new keys and old locks

now... if THAT doesnt work... you're lock cyindars are warn out

i agree. its done by the vin# and will be exact.... unless the dealership still uses that stupid hand cut key plier looking thingy then it wont be as nicely cut.

 

Spray some WD in there.
