Theres a little think you hook on to when you get towed. Jack it from there. I didn't see it in the manual for the 92' but It will work fine.

I've heard mixed things about this, and wouldn't that just lift one side?

If you got a hefty floor jack, it would lift up the front, enough to get under there and move freely. You should also place jacks to secure the car. They look like metal things with holes in them.

Dont really know how safe that really is since its for towing purposes.

I know to place jackstands on under the lift points near each door but I want to lift the front from a safe spot w/o damageing anything.

You're trying to lift the whole front of the car with one jack? If so, you can lift from the bell housing on the transmission safely. Just make sure to put a piece of wood between the jack and the tranny.

The tow hooks are the places I usually use for lift points. Im sure its not the correct way, but it works and havent damaged anything.
