93 Accord EX Transmission Oddities.. help?
I searched the archives and didn't find anything about this particular subject and its really bugging me.
My accord has 139k miles, its a 93 EX (Auto). Transmission history - about 4 years ago when the transmission was around 90k or so I stupidly (not knowing any better) revved it in neutral and popped it into D4 yeah really dumb, the transmission has been fine over the past 40k+ since then, ~100k I got into an accident and the casing was cracked, it was sealed off and has been running fine for many many miles and I haven't abused it since then.
Now, all of a sudden yesterday, putting about 500 miles more on it, the transmission started to act really weird. I was traveling about 75-80 on the highway and the transmission would make the revs jump (I believe its the transmission). So say at 70mph it makes 3k rpm (overdrive) if you give it a lot of gas but not enough to make it shift into 3rd, the revs will jump and OD will de-activate the revs go to about 3400rpm. What was happening seemed like this, except my foot wasn't moving but the revs were kind of jumping from about 3200 to 3500 then quickly back down. It was in 4th the whole time. I drove across the country about a month ago (4200 miles) and had nothing like this, I need to drive back in December so I'm hoping this can be fixed. I checked the dipstick this morning and the fluid still seemed a regular red color and didn't seem low?
Any suggestions or have a clue what it might be/how to fix it?

its been kind of a while since ive posted here but it sounds like your trans is starting to go bad on you. if you can change the tranny fluid, but save the old stuff. now take the old fluid and check for metal flakes and what not, basically anything weird, if ou dont see anything try runing a nice magnet over the fluid sometimes it will catch what you cant see. if they're are metal flakes you may want to either get a used tranny and slap it in or find a decent rebuilder. for now just drive as lightly as possable, it is also possable that the TCM may be malfunctioning but this usually is noticed by the S light blinking. another possibility is your TPS is there a CEL on? sorry for the rambling, hope this helps
TPS?
There is no CEL (Check Engine Light) on, I believe the only year accord that had the S light was the 1990, all the dash lights are fine, and everything else to my knowledge is in great condition.
Is there a color the fluid should be, bright red, burgundy etc?
Its almost as if overdrive is turning itself off and then back on quickly, because the revs jump and the car accelerates slightly very quickly, only seems to happen when crusing at around 75 or so. Any other ideas?
