At first it was only a pic of his car and he was referring to posting a pic of the harness.....yes?

nice car........and autoxing is a great thing to be addicted to.
But please don't do any roadracing with those 4-points. They are quite unsafe.
(if anyone remembers the thread about the White STi that crashed at a HPDE. Slid right under the 4pt harness........in critical condition at the hospital.)

Yikes!
In a frontal impact, your body's momentum is going to be transfered into downward force on your shoulders (the seat back will probably collapse). Regardless of whether you get squeezed out beneath the lap belts or not, you're looking at fused vertebre.

But purely for autocross it's perfectly acceptable.

Didn't someone on this board wad there R up (backwards into a tree) at an autocross in the last couple years. I did a half-*** search but couldn't find it.
Sure, wrecking at an autocross is unlikely, but I'd rather opt for something like a CG-Lock (I haven't personally tried one, and have no idea if these actually work as advertised) that doesn't add the major safety issue.

Sure and there's cars that have rolled, and drifted into light poles, trees and crowds of spectators. This past weekend a vette went for a swim.
But the harness he has above is widely accepted in autocross environments.
As for street use (it's a no no) or tracking and HPDE's (another no no) it is choice if not mandated by club rules.
Many clubs, it may be open to the drivers discretion. I personally wouldn't go that route and don't, but it is often seen in the autocross community.
The CG lock is another option of course.

they are for autox only and i throw them behind the seat when daily driving.
and theres is no possible way of wrecking at my autox's
but thanks for the concern
and the belts are at a much steeper angle than they look in the pics once i have the seat all the way up for autoxing
much closer to this

and i would say they are safe for autoxing they are a OEM option on BMW's in germany.
