got a co-worker with a 91' ls teg automatic. I am wanting a second opinion to see if my initial thought is correct or if I am on crack.

Prob: driving around town, no issues. Drive long distances (I/E highway travelling) after about 30-45 min the car starts to slow down, rev's up, car is slowing down. She pulls over and before she can stop it stalls out. almost as if it were a manual and she stalled it out b/c she sucked driving a manual. car will start right back up and will start moving again, but will do same thing over again in about 10-15 min.

my initial thought was a bad torque converter. anybody else have any experience with this?

does it shudder, and feel like its trying to pull ahead even as she goes to pull over? that would suggest a locked up torque converter

 

ive not driven it when it does this, no check engine lights so she says. she says it starts to shake a bit and hesitate then the motor accelerates while the car decelerates.

nope, def not the issue..........lol guess noone on here has an automatic, lol......

 

yeap sounds like the clutch pack is about to give.. up....
