18s on a 91 Integra
Hey guys! I'm still learning about all of the possible customizations out there.. but the first thing I'm starting with is a new set of wheels. I know that alot of people recommend not going with 18's, but I found a set of wheels I think are bad ***, and I was wondering what problems I may encounter with them? Oh, and heres a pic of the wheels on an Integra.. what do you guys think about them?

I really appreciate the help.

18s are wayyyy too big. but if you must go that big at least do it for the right reasons. your brakes are so big that 18s are the smallest size that fit around them. hahaha
but seriously that will look dumb. 17's also look dumb on integra. i like 16's

Ok, since no one else seems to discuss the issue with 18s, and just says they look lame, I'll throw in my 2 cents.
18s will ride rough, since you will lose the sidewall flex that adds additional "spring" into the suspension. 18s will lower acceleration, from the amount of mass they will have, and how far out from the center the weight is. 18s will force you to buy expensive tires, 215/35-18 I believe. 18s will always be at risk on public roads. Find a pothole, there's a bent rim, go too fast into the driveway, there's another bent rim, etc. Also, 18s will corner worse (usually) since a certain amount of sidewall flex is necessary to keep the tire's contact patch against the road properly.
Its your car, and your choice, but they are certainly not the most logical thing to do to the car in the name of looks.

I agree. To each his own, but a nice set of 18s would be difffernt, and if you like them, then I say go for it

you are gonna need big rims to match your big wing, 5" exhaust tip, and apc stickers.. i think they will also look good with your flame seat covers, steering wheel cover and floor mats, along with your painted air vents and dash pieces

those are always a good choice. throw some falken rubber on them and you'll be golden.

Do whatever you like, everyone here is stereotypical and like the same thing. You'll get flamed if your different and like different things on HT. IMO 18's are too big, but its your car so do whatever you like. Those wheels in that pics dont look bad, but if your looking to go fast, 18's will just weigh you down.
18's are big and heavy... looks nice at times but will weigh you down and make your ride feel like crap. i had 17's on my teggy and i loved it everyone said it was ricey but when they try to keep up they couldnt so they went away quitely. the only reason i took them off was because nyc roads sucks and ima start going to the track more often and they dont sell slicks for 17's
***** everyone and make your car look like YOU want to not what H-T wants. good luck with your choice

I also think 18s are too big. You should really consider 16s or 15s - lighter, not as easily damaged, cheaper tires. Of course it is ultimately for you to decide, but that's my .02
Blades, fat5s, or 99-00 Civic Si rims would look hella clean and be much cheaper.
Look through the DA thread and check out some of the cars with the rims I mentioned - hawtness
