Hey what does EG, EK... and those others that I've seen here?

Also how do I know which car I have?

I've got a 92' Civic Si Hatchback.

 

You could try searching, there's a list of models and their description.

 

Body types of a Civic. EG is old body style.EK is new style.(ex headlights)

Its a chassis code.....alot more simple than yr model and trim level.

92-95 civics are referred to as EG
96-00 civics are referred to as EK

But just to point out, it was the JDM 96-00 civics that were the actual EKs.

For instance my '98 hatch is an EJ6, not an EK4/?/9

I believe it was the 99-00 that were EK9

correct due to their high end JDM counterpart's chassis codes, it's easier to remember one term for a generation rather than five different codes for each.

check your VIN, the 4-6 digits will be EH3

Yeah, I thought EK9 was the Type R. But I've only seen 3 #'s for EKs, but I would assume there would be 4, basic hatch, Type R, Coupe, Sedan
