Steph Papadakis qualified 3rd overall this weekend....
... at the Formula D event in Chicago!!
Congrats to Steph! he also beat out famed drifter Chris Forsberg in the round of 16, then nearly beat Ken Gushi. Great showing by Steph, and I know he was super excited about the whole weekend!

easy for someone to say. But I've heard so many people say "i don't need to go to the track. I can just race someone off of a stop light" about drag racing.
Whether you like it or not, Steph is doing it. And props to him for having the ***** to do it. Heck, last year he TOTAL'D his personal car at the event in Irwindale!! And he's still out there whenever he can, driving his heart out.

Drifting is a JOKE.
Put all of those cars together and let them race not for points but for a win that would be intresting. I might even watch at that point.

drifting might be challenging , but i STILL dont see how it is anyting more than a mere circus act to please the croud, its definatly not real racing im sorry.

Where did anyone say that drifting is racing. Everyone knows it is a judged event much like ice skating like someone stated earlier. Don't knock it til you have tried it. I love drag racing and just recently started to really like drifting as well.
It is not so much the crowd pleaser who gets the win. The judges are looking for drift lines, entry speed, transitions, entry angles. More to it the just sliding around a course and throwing up smoke.
Don't hate cause he likes to drift also. Are you gonna be made too cause he likes to go autocross, road race and shifter karts. Hell go to the RR/AX forum and you will get the same guys talking crap about drag racing.
