Default Need help with B16A Swap and Ignition Upgrade/Maintenance

I have a '89 Honda CRX Si w/ JDM B16A, since I don't know how well the car has been taken care of by the previous owner, I am doing some maintenance.

I want to get a new Distributor Cap and Rotor, and I was going to go with an OEM one but I was thinking why not get an upgrade now. So should I get the OEM one? or Go with an aftermarket one? If aftermarket... what setup? The B16A1 Swap guide says that I should get a Distributor Cap and Rotor from a 90-91 Integra (06303-PR4-000) can anyone back that up? Is there a better one you could get like from a 92-93 GSR? (B17A), or a 94+ GSR? (B18C) If I was going to buy an aftermarket Distributor Cap and Rotor, would I still get it for the 90-91 Integra?

I also want to Get new Spark Plug Wires (I was thinking NGK Power Cable? Or Should I just get the plain old NGK Spark Plug Wires?) What car should I get them for? (Del Sol VTEC? or 92-93 Integra GSR?)

Also I need to know what kinda plugs to get, I don't plan on doing to much crazy stuff with the engine. Most Likely I/H/E, Omni Power Cams, Spring, Valves, Intake Manifold, Throttle Body, Retainers, Ignition, Maybe fuel later on. Currently I am running the car with just the intake and exhaust (Cat Back), so that's what I would need plugs for, I just don't know about temps and things.

Any help anyone can provide will be very much appreciated, Sorry if this sounds like a mess I just don't have a lot of time, and I need to get this done.
Thanks Again

So you are saying I shouldn't upgrade my ignition? I really think I should since I have read a lot about weak sparks and coils from hondas. However I have heard people say that hondas ignitions are well equiped up to 250 WHP, which I don't think I'll ever reach (I Don't plan on doing any forced induction). So should I get a better ignition for the coil at least?

"Extreme Honda Power Caps: One of the best upgrades you can make with a Honda engine is to bypass the weak internal coil. These new caps allow you to take advantage of an external coil and ensure all of the new high voltage reaches the plugs. The caps are injection molded from DuPont Rynite material producing a strong cap with high dielectric properties." -Inlinefour.com MSD Ignition

Now I realise a lot of these compainies make this crap up to get you to buy it... but I thought MSD was a rather legit company, so I didn't figure that would be true in this situation, especially with inlinefour selling it.

Honda distributors have notoriously bad igniters. The coils are ok but can be a problem. IF you want the MSD stuff get it but OEM will be just fine for your application.

I am currently having problems with my ignition, thats why I was wondering if maybe I had a weak igniter, and/or coil. I need help with finding the right ignition setup for my b16a swap, I don't want to replace the OEM igniter and coil if they are going to be weak again. Anyone have their ignition upgraded on their B16A? Anyone have any idea what would be a good setup for my situation?

one thing i have noticed over the years is that by getting rid of the internal coil it keeps down the heat level on the ignitor. I have replaced my fair share of coils and ignitors but it seems like the coil is usually the one to go first. Stock ignition is fine for 80% of the people out there. When u get into boost and nitrous where u need to retard timing progressivley thats when u need to think about a new ignition setup or chipped ECU. I happend to have a MSD blaster SS coil laying around and when i did my last swap i got a msd pro cap for 30 bux new from NAPA where i worked. It was only 10 bux more than a GOOD stock one. And yes I have been zapped by both the stock and MSD coil, i would have to say the MSD hurt moreIf u have the extra cash for a msd cap and coil go for it, if not stay stock for now. To answer your other questions use only NGK or denso plugs, and get the best plug wires u can afford.

I was thinking of getting the NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs, but what temp spark plugs should I get? 5,6,7, or 8?

Also I was thinking of getting Magnecor KV85 Competition Ignition Wires. Will they work with the NGK Iridium IX spark plugs?
