Default having problems with ram intake

alright today i purchased a ram intake pipe that came with 2 clamps, a gasket, a rubber tube to connect to the engine, 2 other metal pieces that i dunno wut they are, and a cone air filter.

i managed to remove the old air filter box and all the plastic piping ****, got it out of the bay. then i tried putting the ram pipe onto the manifold but it like wont go on, plus my battery is kind of in the way so i took that out and placed it in the hatch to reroute it there. so now my problem is i cannot get the god damn ram pipe to go onto the manifold, i serously think the ram pipe will not fit over the manifold and the gasket

ive tried putting the gasket inside the pipe and putting it on, didnt work. ive tried putting the gasket on top of the manifold, then putting the ram pipe over that, all that did was push the gasket back so when i clamp it on, the clamps are gripping anything so it wont tighten.... so ya ive been at this for like 2 hours now and im getting reallly freakin pissed. any help would be nice

thx

Are you trying to literaly trying to slide the tube onto the manifold and clamp it down? the 2 metal brackest are to clamp the filter onto the intake, and the intake onto and the manifold. the ruber tube is used to go onto the manifold and the end of the intake. they should not be touching(mainfold and intake tube). Only thing that touches the intake manifold is the ruber tube that came with it. the other clamp goes around that ruber tube and over the intake manifold.

um... but why wont the ram pipe go onto the freakin manifold?? even when it goes on, i clamp it down so tight that i cannot turn the socket wrench anymore. but then right after i tighten it down as tight as i can, it just slips right off the manifold. my only guess is that the gay *** rubber gasket is being pushed back by that piping and the clamps arent tightening down anything. but i cannot get the god damn gasket to not move. its either it moves or i dont get the ram pipe onto it

ok i just went out there and tried it again. i cannot get the ram pipe to fit over the gasket which is on the manifold.

Holy **** buddy, don't even mess with your battery. I don't know how to say this without being offensive, but if you couldn't figure that out, you should forget about modifying your car by yourself.

To put it less offensively, perhaps a battery location is something you should try with alittle more experience. If you insist, make sure you get either a sealed battery or a box to put it in along with a wire kit.

Here are two differant guides on how to do so, read up on it:
