Rebuild, with just the center piece, is it that easy?
i got a turbo that requires a rebuild bad and i dotn fell like sending it out to turbo netics for a 500 dollar bullshit rebuild, id rather not have the warranty and just rebuild it myself, I have been looking on turbonetics price sheet and am wondering if buying a center piece with new bearings and just bolting it all back up after marking turbine and compressor for balence... i know people have done it if I i **** up o well, id just rather not spend the ridiculous amount when i dont have much money to begin with.
thanks again

It's quite easy... just a matter of unbolting and bolting back up the wheels and housings. Just make sure your compressor wheel and turbine isn't damage, also check the shaft for scoring, dents, etc... If they're all good then you can just change over the parts.
Don't know about the balance though, because once you undo the nut, it's never gonna be back on the same exact spot.

i hear if it is near balenced it is near immpossible to tell wheter it was even taken apart
i think im gunna follw through and just fix it myself

I rebuilt my turbo myself.
The only problem I ran into was the bearings in the rebuild kit didn't fit the shaft properly and if I would have used them I would have had major shaft play.
But my old bearings were fine so I just used the old bearings a new everything else.
I marked the compressor wheel, nut, and turbine shaft with nail polish and put it back together EXACTLY how it was before. If you mark it carefully you can put it together exactly where it was before.
It's been 1000 miles of a shitload of boosting since I rebuilt my turbo and so far no smoke, leaks, noise, or nothing... just smooth boost!
If you are a cheap bastard like me, and willing to take risks, then rebuild it yourself. You might get away with it like I did.
