Stripped Coilovers????
I think I may be fcked. I have the Ground Contol coilover kit on my 1997 Civic EX. I trying to adjust my suspension to lift the car a little, can't get on the lift at the paint shop. Well to make a long story short, I stripped the allen head bolt that tightens the adjuster plate. Any way to fix without buying a whole new kit? Can I buy just one coilover? I guess I could take the stripped bolt out and put a new one in but I don't have the tools available right now to take off the strut (stuff is in storage about to deploy). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post.
i can imagine two ways of getting that screw out. you either saw it off down the split of the collar. or you drill it out. i would recommend you try sawing it out, and youre going to need to do it off the car.
I called Ground Control today, they said they can sell me a new adjuster perch for $17.50 plus shipping. So I am just going to do that and not deal with drilling out the screw. Thanks for everyones help.
