Default anyone ever have a problem with dynoing?

well, the other day 1greyteg and i went to the local dynojet. he was up first in his 01 itr. they had a problem trying to read his rpm. it would work down low, but as he went over 3k, it just totally freaked out. they tried different leads, grounding the leads in different spots etc, but it just wouldn't get a consistent reading. here are the results from his run (although, i got crafty with a scissor, and tried to match up some rpm with it...)

my run was better than expected. i gained 32hp and 13 ftlbs over stock after some cam tuning. i had some spikes and dips in the a/f ratio, but all in all it wasn't that bad. anyone guess to what the vtec x over is in my run?

to those who guessed 5100... my thoughts were...

and yes, i am getting a double chin

Nice run guys. Just wondering what dyno you guys went to. I am looking to put my IS300 on a dyno and tune the AFC. Since you guys are close to me I'm looking for a good place. Thanks.

Once, my friend had a problem with the dyno not displaying torque.
I guess there was a grounding problem somewhere.

The dyno operator put the leads on an injector wire and it worked fine.

Nice numbers, BTW.

well, how about going to the website or better yet, calling the number in bold print right on the dyno sheet? it's kinda far from you if you are in the city. about an hour and a half north, near the newburgh beacon bridge.

no problem. everyone is on the "do a search" bandwagon, so i'd figure i'd chime in too........ oh, i like the upstate dynos, they don't seem to have an attitude like the city dynos.

I had the same problem (reading rpms) the first time I went to the dyno. It took the tech about a half hour to get it to work. We never did figure out why, it ended up working on the #1 cyl just like it's supposed to. Maybe there was some crap on the lead or something...
