Need advice - 1997 Civic HX - $6000-
Guys - need some advice
Been shopping for a Civic for like 4-5 months. Michigan market is pretty weak for clean Civics.
Found this one - totally stock, dealer serviced, one owner, mileage 63K, carfax confirmed everything and came back clean.
1997 Civic HX - all options except moonroof and cruise, auto (wish it was 5 speed), clean interior and outter has usually dings, scrapes and bumps from a 1997.
I want to jump all over it because HX's are hard to find these days (and they get the best MPG for that gen) - but $6000 is a bit steep for me and he's pretty firm. I know someone will jump on it when they test drive it.
Any advice appreciated

That is a ridiculous price. Seriously man...I picked up a hatch for 2300 second owner with a clean title from a used dealership. Don't pay that much man...its not worth it.

Yes, and it WILL develop problems.

You don't want that transmission, find you a civic w/ a 5 speed. Have you checked autotrader? You could buy off an individual for less than what you'd pay the stealership.
dude for reals your gonna pay 6k for a auto civic hahah walk away it will be soooo slow and you will hate it! at lease get a 5 speed there slow stock and with an auto damn i feel bad for you! id pay maybe like 2 or 3 for it for a daily driver if that! just wait around i promise a good deal will come. check ebay put a wanted up in on all the honda sites check out honda-acura.com ext! good luck
you could almost afford mine
that's a little steep for an HX (especially auto), unless you REALLY want that car i wouldn't pay that much for it. I bought a 98 integra RS with 68k miles for $6300....i consider that head and shoulders above the HX in many different ways. If someone's willing to pay that much for that car....well their choice, i wouldn't.
