Autozone sucks
I use to not have a problem with Autozone, always had rotors in, never screwed up my orders. Well, for the past 4-5 days now I've gone in, tried to purchase rotors and for some reason they just can't grasp the concept of entering part numbers into the comp and ordering the Fu**in things! They kept telling me, come back around 12-1 and they should be here. I call, ask them if they came in yet, they tell me records show no purchase was made for rotors and that...we didn't order them. I guess im just goin to the dealership for now on. No one around here ever has rotors.
screw autozone! buy some slotted brembos from nopi
they have slotted or drilled brembo rotors (very nice quality) for like 80-90 each front and rear

Dude I know there has to be some parts stores in your area who specialize in import parts, who are a lot more knowledgeable, and well get you a much better quality part usually from japan. In Portland we have a bunch but DIP(discount import parts) is the ****. They have great deals on anything you would ever need.

They wont stop the car any better, but if you feel the need to spend money go ahead.

I've tried the rotors they sell and I think they're junk, IMO. Cracked a few of them last year that had no other signs of wear at all.
Autozone 'blanks' @ $13/ea for me.

i will disagree on this one. slotted rotors eliminated fade completely (what tiny amount of fade the R had) during a race. maybe i'm the only person who's ever had this problem. i'm not a fan of drilled rotors, because i've seen them crack easily, but there's gotta be a reason that porsches, ferraris, maserattis, etc. come with them. i dunno.... not tryin to start something, just adding in a small comment.
cliffnotes: it can't hurt to dissapate the gasses that occur between the rotor and pads under hard braking

Seems you've carried along quite a few misconceptions here....
Brake fade happens because you just run out of thermal capacity in the system - i.e. the rotors (heat sinks) are too small and/or you dont have enough airflow through them (no ducting) and you take the pads and/or fluid beyond the amount of heat they can handle. Slotted rotors can help keep the surface of the pads 'clean' in case they are prone to glazing up, which is why you see them on endurance race cars, like at LeMans. There's no performance benefit, i.e. the car will not stop any faster. These cars are tire limited in braking in a big way, so unless you change the grip of the tire on the road you cant decrease braking distances. You can change the feel, modulation, feedback, fade resistance, etc - but not the ultimate stopping distances.
The reason that Porsches come with drilled rotors (or have them available) is for wet braking performance (so they claim). No other reason. For ferrari, etc - its for the bling. Thats really it. The ferrari challenge racers lobbied ferrari to let them use regular solid rotors instead of the OE drilled rotors because they would crack after one or two weekends.
Modern brake pads also dont have an 'outgassing' problem - there's no gasses to dissipated at all, so those drilled rotors arent doing anything other than taking away thermal capacity and adding stress risers. For a street car this is probably fine, but for a track car they'll be toast very quickly.
Stoptech has some very good tech articles on this.

How a topic can change subject dramatically just amazes me! I just got a call from AutoZone, I guess there friends after all, just not the idiots working there! They said the rotors have been at the store and the computers crashed lastnight....uh huh okay w.e so I just picked them up. I was just pissed because where I live, the autozone is 1/2 hour away, so I kept having to drive back and forth and probably spent more money on gas than the actual rotors. As far as slotted brembos, theres no reason to buy such an expensive rotor. Slotted on the street is very annoying. Plus for the price you pay for brembo's you could have bought a few pairs of autozone blanks, which would last just as long. As far as Advance Auto Parts, I went there 1st because there closer to my house, they looked up the car on the computer and under ITR 2001 the rotors 4 lug so something screwed up in there system. RJ how are you getting rotors for so cheap? They charged me 24.99 each at AutoZone!

in my area theres about a handfull of auto parts dealers. or you can go on your local yellowpages online and type in auto parts in the category and find one that will fit you.

That has nothing to do with glazed pads on track.

yeah, glaze is the wrong term, i mean the oil they put on the rotors for shipping so they don;t rust, if you don't get that off, it will get into your pads and when they heat up you will have squeak city

I've never heard of the oil on the rotors having anything to do with squeaking. If anything I'd bet they're quieter with the oils on them.
But it is a VG idea to wash them and dry them thoroughly to get the oil off. I usually wash them with a cheap dish detergent like dawn and towl them dry before installing them, then I spray them down with brake cleaner after install before driving and seasoning and bedding in.
