Default Rim help!!If possible!

Hey guys..
I am new to the forum, sorry if posted in the wrong place!
My name is max and i come from italy, and i see that you guys have no problems in changing wheel sizes on youir civics...
Here in italy, Honda does not want anything to do with us,they dont want to give us any new sizes!a vti can only run 15" an i can only have 14"
I was wondering if maybe there was somebody that worked at honda or something that could maybe get a letter saying that it is ok to put something bigger on,so i can go to the vehicle department and get them to write them on me registration booklet!!
Sorry if i sound a bit stupid but i am so desperate that i would do anyting for my honda!!

Ps:here is the car with 14"...

Welcome, Max. I a bit confused by your question. Is there a law in Italy that states that the wheels sizes must be "approved" in order for your car to be legally registered or inspected? If so, where does this approval come from? I don't think you are going to have much luck getting something like this changed by having someone write a letter for you.

hello!!
thank you for the welcome!!
Yes here in italy there is that law for our misforune!
This process can be done, all that is needed is a letter from the manufacturer stating that it is possible for this car, to have these rims, then they legaly write it for you!
Just that honda italy, say that they are to old to consider....
i was just wondering,as i said i am desperate! all i need is a honda paper saying i can have those rims!!

Go find a wrecked Integra Type R and go ****** the rims and hubs off it. Those are some 15's and they will look nice on your VTI.

Yeah, I know it's easier said than done...

I think if you contact the company that you want to buy rims from, they may have something for you.

I would go and get the rims, no problem, just that i need the car to be street legal therfore need them written on my booklet!!
The rim companies here do not handle homologation laws!!

I think what he's looking for is for someone who works at Honda, to send him an OK on Honda letterhead.......shouldn't be too hard guys, hook him up!

Post the make/model/size of the wheels that you want to put on your car, and hopefully someone here will hook you up with a letter that says, "It is OK to put [insert your wheel description here], on his vehicle." Unless of course you're trying to put on some 22's or something heheheh.

i would probly go with this size, it will look the best without rasing your car up anymore than it is, unless your going to lower it, which i'm guessing is against the law too

i'll stop by a honda dealership around here and see if they can't give me something stating that it is ok to put these rims on this type of car, worst comes to worst i'll just mail it to you , if i can get the letter that is

i'll post back up later

yes 16 would be perfect, i have already lowered 3,5 cm..it would be against the law,but it is arguable because it doesnt specify how high the car is standard!
Anyhow, thank you very much for your kindness,if u manage anything, sure just mail it over,i'll print it!
later..

The laws are stricr, because we have real idiots in high postitions that think buy changing the size of a wheel the car goes faster,or buy changing the muffler the noise makes it go faster.....jesus,with all the speed laws we have you'd think they would let us do it!!!we gotta catch up to places like germany...
How do u think i feel, i moved here from south africa, my dad had an old alfa 2000 with damn 18" wheels on......

Just because you can't put 24s on a CRX? Italy was probably one of the most incredible places that I was able to visit last year. Well at least northern Italy is.

Welcome Max from Italy,...

I'm james from Greece and I know the answer to your problem. In italy you CANNOT change your rims/wheels UNLESS they are stock.

Now the solution to your problem is 1 of 2 things.

1) If you want aftermarket wheels, you'll have to cross the border and change them. Keep the receipt!!! When the police ask you why you have aftermarket wheels tell them your stock wheels got damaged while on a trip and you had no other option except to buy aftermarket.

2) Buy the VTi wheels, have them changed and the police will not even notice. I seriously doubt they'll take the time to prove that your LSi came with 14's rather than VTi 16's

jdm:youre right,northern italy is cool!!
james:i am afraid you are wrong....it isnt like that at all, do the rims i have in the foto look stock?
you can put any rim you want as long as it is the size that is written on you booklet!!trust me....plus here the cops arent that stupid, otherwise everyone would od it!
Sorry to have put it to you like that,it is just that i know these things,it is since i have bought the car (a year ago) that i have been battling to put biger rims on!!
Thanks anyway!!

i meant about the stock or non stock wheels!
obviously if ou cross the border and get wheels put on and written on your book there, then it is fine!
i just dont have the time or money to do it!!
it would just be far easier getting the letter and doing it here!!thanks anyway!!
