Default Wheres a good place to start?

Hi, I've been looking through the forums for about a few weeks now and I finally decided to join up... so uhmmm yeah.

Anyways, I have a 92' Civic Hatchback Si... I put in a new radiator because the old one was leaking, I put in an AEM Short Ram Air Intake... and I also put it a billet rotor onto the throttle rotor. I'm new to this "avenue" of modifying cars so I've been buying smaller less expensive things so that I can get more comfortable with where everything in my engine is and how to do things.

My question, is what mods or additions are good starting ones? I'm thinking about adding a new catback system and some ceramic headers.. is that a good start? Where should I go after that? I'm open for exterior or interior mods, anything less than $500 is fair game for my budget.

I plan on eventually getting an engine swap. My civic has about 170,000 miles so I figure it would be nice to get the additional HP/ lbs/ft of torque and some less wear and tear.

Anyways, thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me!

Oh and my civic is a manual. OF COURSE.

Take it from me man, just save your money and get a swap... Wasting your money on an engine you won't keep isn't really a good idea.

The first mod I would get is an aftermarket in-tank fuel pump [Walbro 255lph]. You can find it for under $100 including s/h in the "Sponsors' Marketplace". And the removal/installation is fairly easily if you are good with hand tools. Other mods:
1. cross-drilled/slotted rotors with metalllic pads (less than $110/pr...$30 for pads)
2. exterior mods -- headlights, corner lights, CF hoods, duckbill spoiler, etc...

If you are eventually going to swap out the D16Z6....it would be sorta pointless to buy parts for it because you won't be able to slap it onto B/H/K series motors. Good luck.

If you are going to swap it out soon anyway I would not put anymore money into the motor. Just save for the swap but if you really want to get something new get some new springs/shocks (might be a tad over $500) or brakes like someone else suggested.

Best bet might just be to save for swap and then get bolt ons for whatever you swapped in there.

Alright thanks. I'm at about $1000 right now and I figure for the engine + s/h + labor I'm going to need about $4000....does that sound about right? I'm looking into getting the B18C5... it seems to be a good choice after reading through the other choices. H22 seems like too much work for a newbie like myself...

Any types of brakes & shocks/springs that I should look for? I'm going to look around the site for topics on this and see what I can find, but any further suggestions/past experiences/etc. would greatly appreciated! For instance, what differences will I notice once I get new shocks/springs.. does it ride smoother? Also are they hard to install, or do a need professional assistance?

Thanks!

Yeah I asked for what purpose. Why would you put an aftermarket fuel pump on a stock car or a car with minor bolt ons. Isnt the stock fuel pump good up to 200hp or so? I had a turbo kit on my car previously and am in the process of turboing it again and have NO plans to upgrade the fuel pump. I dont see a need or have any problems with my current fuel pump. My HP goals dont warrant dropping $100 on a fuel pump. And obviously this guy is WAAAAY off from needing an aftermarket fuel pump anytime soon.
