my sec box closes fine and opens fine...thing is, when i lock it with the key, it still opens!!!

yours isnt locking , or not latching on propertly.

 

the latch opens fine, i can close it, i hear it click, i press it again to open but when it's closed, i try to lock it and it seems like it is at first but you can still open it lolz

 

mines kinda like that except the entire lock sometimes just spins around completely. I'll have to fix it sometime after I figure out how to fix the stripped screw holes that hold it in.

 

The lock is held in with a "pressure clip" right underneath. Its simple enough to look at it and see what's wrong. The lock is an independent part from the latch thats on the handle...you can remove either one and keep the other.


Open it up, lock it and look at the bottom where the locking parts come out... they might be worn, misaligned, or the jamb on the bottom part they are supposed to lock into might be broken or gone.

 

I understand that you want to lock it but if someone really wants in they will just bust the cardboard top and get in.
