Turbo Guys, preps and habits?
Still fairly new to the turbo crowd. I have yet to dragrace it as well.
Just wondering if there are any certain things to prep for either before or after a run.
IE- Ice? Cool down time? Spraying FMIC? that kinda thing....
Help me out HT

Damn, the list would be humongous. I know for a fact after all the years of racing it takes me three full hours to go over a racecar before it runs. This is three hours of checking everything with two people minimum. If there were more crew members it would take less. The smartest thing to do is write an excel checklist sheet with just about everything to check. Take note this is just checking items on the car. Not prepping it the night before and making sure you have all the necessary parts as well as spare parts to race on race day. If you wanna win and be prepared for just about anything checklists are a must. (These cars have a mind of their own as well as moood swings. They are living and breething entities just like us.........much like very young children) One for going over the car as well as another for making sure you have spares as well as parts to race. (Gas, spark plugs.....etc) and another one going over what each crew member is responsible for on the track. Crew members are key and as a team while the car goes down the track it is a must to get feedback from all members including the driver of what the car is doing down the track. This checklist will assist you in getting the car faster.. I think thats like three checklist so far. I know we run at least four excel spreadsheets before and after the run. Then after all that it must be filed in a bound notebook. Most of the checklists are pretty much common sense, you just gotta think of the worst things that could happen. It can be quite nerve racking at times, but when you do it so many times it becomes second nature and dang tiring. It is a helluva a physical and mental work out though. But we LOVE racing!
