Default Intakes that will fit with battery removed

Possibly an AEM V.1. Kinda more so got my eye on a J's racing, or PWJDM one like so:

I'm pretty sure by the looks of it, it will fit. I figure an EK, EG, or DC (minus GSR) style will fit, since they are are similar in shape aspects. I wanted to know which AEM model would fit, and if anybody has switched to a more straight forward intake like so after tossing the battery in the back? Couldn't hurt getting first hand confirmation.

BTW, this is in an '88 CRX Si with a B-16A.

I use a 92-95Civic AEM, that passward intake will also work but is a very tight fit. 96-00 Civic CAI will also work, but I'd get a 99-00 Si if choosing between that gen.

Get a cheap knockoff 92 civic air intake, and get a real good aftermarket filter. Use the filter with the kit as air freshner or ashtray. They're useless for enything else.

I have the password jdm CF intake in my b16 crx and It fits. You have to move some wiring over a little and also the brake lines on the passenger side but after you do that it fits great!

I think that 19,800 yen is roughly 200 us. I'm not sure about that though.

If I had a pic of my whole front end it would be more understandable. But the cai din't cost me $200. I had a 94-00 Integra LS short ram intake in old inventory at my shop that cost me a grand total of $22.00 that was on my car up until about 2 weeks ago when a guy was willing to trade me his AEM for my generic shorty. Seemed like a good deal to me

I am running a 99-00 si aem cai in my car. fits fine, the generic 3 inch short ram rubbed against my hood though.

I have a iceman CAI and it fits in my 90 ef hatch with the battery. Honestly I don't see any Intake outperforming this 1. This thing is resistant to heat and never gets hot even on a long trip while friends are scolding hot mine is cool. The plastic its made out of is just heat resisant useing some kinda aircraft plastic.

i liek the idea of the passowrdjdm power chanber having that extra space for better throttle response. theres always air in there on tap. heard it improves torque too. im going to order one right now.

I LOVE mine! It performs well and that is the first thing people comment on when I pop the hood~!

How does it sound compared to a short ram or conventional CAI?

I'm using that one too. You don't have to relocate the battery if you use a nrg cell battery. I wouldn't really trust it if you're running a lot of electronics in your car though eg. stereo.

Actually I was curious to how the J's racing/PWJDM intake sounded. I'm aware of what the short ram and CAI's sound like.

The Password CF intake sounds VERY deep! It is alot deeper than the generic short rams and AEM cai. When vtec engages it is really throaty!

i have a 3' aem type R CAI and for some reason it didn't fit for **** in my 91 crx si w/b16. i had to 'modify' quite a bit. it helps power wise. its one of the best. but i hated cutting into it. just my 2cents
