Default Installed Autometer gauge..doesnt seem to work??

I install the autometer water temp gauge(5737) and it seems not to work. lights come one but its not reading temp. I made a custom t fitting. it from the hose next to the bleed bolt to the intake manifold, right behinde the injectors. theres a plug that connects to this. I dont know what it is but i had coolant coming from it. I think i connected to the wires in the back of the gauge right. can you tell me if im right.. the bolt on the right with the light on top is power the one in the middle is the water temp sensor and the one on the left is ground. does seem right. O yeah the car is a 2001 prelude non SH

one more thing i connected the light to the power and ground that already connect in the back. didnt run new wires.

Thanks for the Help

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm thinking you put the temp. sensor in the hose that the thermostat opens coolant into... So it may be because your thermostat is not opened yet, hence, no coolant.

Have you tried driving/running the car until the thermostat opens?
