92 honda accord, some touble starting. No idea what It could be.
I have a 92 accord auto.
anytime during the day it will start and somtimes it could be the middle of the day or afternoons and it wont start but if u keep trying for about 15 mins it will start somtimes.
Checked the fuel pump and it still making the noise when u turn the car on. so it still working. replaced the spark plug wires with accel plug wires, and still the same problem. put 4 new spark plugs in (NGK) and it didnt help at all. put on a new dist. cap and rotory button and it didnt help one bit.
what could it be? I could really use the help.

SAVE URSELF SOME MONEY AND DONT REPLACE UNNEEDED PARTS U NEED TO SEE IF IT IS FUEL OR SPARK RELATED,,,,,,,,,,,IT ACTS LIKE A TYPICAL BAD MAIN RELAY ,, NEXT TIME IT WONT START SEE IF U ARE GETTING FUEL

Exactly!
I would test for spark and rule out your ignitor, if thats not it then test your main relay as they are typical to go out/act up on 4th and 5th gens.

yeah, but at least it will run better once you get it started.
Mine did the same thing a while back. I got two other main relays from the junk yard. Car still had the same problem after plugging in both. I then swapped in another starter i had laying in my parts bin, fixed.

I am having the EXACT same problem with my 92 honda accord lx. Thing is all the above has been done except the relays that you guys are talking about. Are the main relays which were described located under-hood or what? I would like to get this fixed cause I have gotten stuck at work for about 20-25 minutes in the scorching hot weather sitting there trying to get the car to start. It's strange as hell, my car has NEVER shut off after it starts up fine. The problem always seems to start after the car is warmed up. The car usually always starts when its cold. Most of the time even when its warm it still starts up fine but every once in awhile it does as described above. Any ideas besides relays?
