What's compatible? (from 86-89 to 90-97 accord)
What is really compatible from a 86-89 accord and a 90-97 accord as far as struts and shocks and coils go? i just put on the cheapy coils from ebay...ya ya i know. anyways, my shocks are the ones that came off the factory line so either way they're not gonna do well with the new spring rates and what not. the rear springs bang around a little and any bump you hit sends the car into a hopping frenzy. so what would it take to eliminate this problem or come close to solving the problem? can i take shocks/struts fro a 90-97 and bolt them right on? what performance shocks/struts are offered out there? (remember this is a ballin' on a budget car) thanks in advance.
oh btw i have a '88 accord LX, 4dr, 4cyl., carb.

90-97 use the same suspension, unless the accord in question has rear disk brakes that would be the only difference. 90-97 use the same headlight bulbs (9006 low beams and 9005 high beams). As for 'affordable' struts/shocks I would recommend some tokico blues or reds or some kyb agx's, IMO koni's are somewhat overpriced. But just remember, you get what you pay for

As for 3rd generation accord, I don't know but I would assume 3rd gen parts should be fully compatible but not with 4th and 5th gen accords since these 2 models had A LOT of changes in both the engine, suspension and also looks. You may also want to check out http://www.3geez.com
