Default longer gearing

Ok, after extenisive reading and search i still do not get how can a person get more mph out of their car, i've read up on final gears but its seems to all shorten gearing, im not in for the quick speed, i just want to get my car to get up there in the 140mph+ zone and or at least hold 70 mph in 5th and still be only at 3-4k rpm, can someone simplify what exactly needs to be done to achieve what im trying to achieve? thanks in advace, Dan

Who said he had a B series? Either way, the only way you're going to do it is with longer gearing, and the only way you're going to get longer gearing on a d series is to make the overall diameter of your wheels larger. get some 16s and put an 80 series tire on it.

Get the DX 5-speed. You must have the power in the motor though to go that fast. I had a 4-speed in my '90 Si with a DOHC Zc and topped out @ 110 in 3rd hitting the limiter. Got to 135-140 but couldn't hold it there. Too scary! The car simply feels too light and the wipers begin to come off the windshield.
