mounting 6x9s speakers in the rear stock location in a CRX...........
Just picked up some 6x9s and used zip ties to install them into the stock location in the rear of my CRX. I couldn't justify cutting up my cargo dividers and couldn't figure out where to cut up the rear panels to make them fit. So for now I guess zip ties will work for me, but I was wondering who else has 6x9s in the back of their CRX and how they made them fit... preferably in the stock location
I just recently put 6x9's in my rex, i had to use metal brackets to make them fit, the gaps in between i just used Dynamat to fill in the gaps so they dont rattle or move.
I did this about three months ago. Just turn the 6x9s so that the inside part it going down at an angle of like 45 degrees. Then get a rotozip and take a like off of the plastic interior that will hit the speakers. Then the speaker cover/grill should screw back on perfect. You can't even notice the pieces that you cut off because of the grill.
