mask or 3M rock guard?
I'm just wondering which one would you guys rather go with on your R's? The mask is certainly way cheaper to protect the bumper but I find it looks pretty ugly. On the other hand I have heard that sometimes the 3M guard turns yellow over time. Which one would you prefer?
Both, reason... film guard will prevent the bra from damaging the paint and the bra will prevent large items such as tire tread from doing any harm.
But really... 61,500 miles on my front end and many are from long road trips, if you take care of the paint it will be ok. I tend to have the front bumper repainted at 75k, just for ***** and giggles.

I've got that 3M stuff on my hood and it works great and doesn't look bad. However, I have seen it on the front bumper cap, and it looks terrible due to the fact that there are like 8 seperate pieces. All the edges you will be able to see. My hood you can see it, but since it's one piece, there is only one straight line.
Black R, you got a picture of that cap with the 3M stuff on it?

I would choose to put on both for the same reason as above. But also because I have noticed that 3M tends to fade after a few years in the sun. Turns kinda yellowish or hazy. The bra on top of the 3M definately slows it down if not stops MOST of it.

Please, visit my sponsors website, they have custom kits and already cut-out kits. It is possible to do the hole bumper without having to do a bunch of seperate pieces. You can choose however thick the Mil you want and it's the leading paint protection on the market. Most kits turn yellow after awhile, the super shield has a U.V. inhibitor in, and a clearcoat just like paint. Check it out http://www.AutoSuperShield.com

I got it on my car and you can't really see it from far away(>5'). However, because my car is white, you can see it easier than on a darker car. It appears slightly off white on the CW; actually a better looking CW color. I'd rather spend $150 on the film than have to repaint it later. With a repaint, you chance it not even matching. Plus the next rock chip you get on that new paint job will be like getting your first door ding. This was the best pic that I could find that shows the clear bra on it. If you look really good you can see it on the fender, hood, and bumper. It appears a little off white.
