Default Ls Vs. gsr (differences)

just curious if someone could tell me how much of a different in acceleration and power you can see between say a 96 acura integra ls, and a 94 acura integra gsr. also, is there any other major differences between the two besides the engine??

i used to drive a 96 LS until i crashed it and now i'm driving a 95 GSR, trust me, crashing my car was the best thing that happend to me, the GSR is faster, nicer, all around a better car, everything is basically the same between the two outside the engine except the rims on the GSR are a lot nicer, i dont have any pics but if someone does post them, i'm sure you'll agree. Nothing beats redlining at 8000. go with the gsr, given that it has decent mileage and is in good condition.

B18B vs B18C1 engine, also suspension is a little more "sporty." But, as you can see here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=132466

still not THAT great

LS vs GS-R. Big difference. GS-R much better, faster, nicer, etc.

LS has better low end torque, but the GS-R will tear it up...

That was a Porsche Club of America event (Northern NJ Region): http://vista.pca.org//nnj/

Kinda sucks 'cause you'll be in the "not Porsche" group, which includes S2000, M3, S4, anything else...
edit: I forgot it's cool though 'cause you get 8 runs/day

I haven't done anything else, but I know there are other groups who race at Giants Staium, and also Englishtown and Camden.

both cars are great and have lots of potential.
For all motor, GSR is the way to go.
For FI, go with LS
It all depends on your plans.

What will I have to do to participate in these events? What will I have to bring?

This is probably better asked in the competition forum, but basically a helmet and your car. There are a lot more things you will probably want to bring though--I suggest searching or the comp forum

I own both and i can tell you that you will notice the difference at the end of second gear . A gsr will pull away. 3rd gear is kinda lame/sluggish in an ls but in the gsr is faster

My opinion is that they are both slow stock though so either way your gonna have to mod them

I believe the Vtec cars will be louder on freeways than the nonVtec cars.
As you can see there are minor downsides to having Vtec. Emphasis on *minor*.

True, true....

I love my LS, but for a stock car comparo, the GSR wins hands down just bcuz of VTEC, I give a crap about the 'sportier' suspension, most of us are gonna upgrade suspension anyway !
In my opinion... if you buy your car cash... buying an LS can save you about $2000 of the purchase price.... With $2000 in go fast parts on an LS, you'll be playing with type R's, not GSR's..... heheheheh
