I bought the VAFC-II and thankefully was able to sell it for a profit. These are junk because they change the VTEC changeover but don't tell the ECU to use the VTEC fuel maps. Hondata is the **** compared to the Apex'i. Or if you are familiar with tuning, electronics and computers use Uberdata or Chrome, it's all free, check out http://www.pgmfi.org..
the ECU itself is just an OBD1 honda ECU (depending on which one you get) it's the interface that's all that.
well not really with Crome and Uberdata out there for a fraction of the cost.

I always wondered the difference between crome uberdata etc. and Hondata....I figure that they do the same thing the only difference is cost and that with Hondata you can make changes on the fly, whereas with the others you have to burn a new chip every time you make a change...is this correct???

You can do real time programming with both crome and uberdata with the ostrich. THe new S300 is pretty damn good, but crome pro is right up there, and uberdata is starting to catch back up.
All in all, right now, crome pro is the way to go.

The "cheaper" ways to go such as Chrome and Uber are the same idea as Hondata except you mod the ECU to run an EMPROMM chip as opposed to a unit you buy from Hondata. Unless your tech savvy Hondata might be the better way to roll. As far as funtionality I have heard this go back and forth. People saying Hondata is the best because it supports a 5bar MAP sensor when Uber only supports 3bar. I mean c'mon, anyone even know how much psi of boost would be needed to exceed the 3bar? But either way I would definitely do some research before you go spending money. One setup may be better suited for your plans but all ar a good bet!!
