What colour honda bearins for me???
OK, heres the deal I decided to go with OEM honda bearings in my ls/vtec build.
And someone in the marketplace has them available.
So my question now is what colours do I need to order.
Its a b18b block, how would I find out what colours to order for the rod and mains?

Using a series of numbers on the Crankshaft vs. the Letters on the bottom of the block. Real hard to see......where the oil pan gasket goes. This is for the mains.
Now using the numbers on each rod (bore size) vs. the letters on the crank journals. This is for the rods.
Then call Acura or Honda and give the numbers and they will reference to what color bearing you need.

I have alot of OEM bearings left over from my build, lemme know which colors you need and if have them I'll give you a good deal........brand new in package.

The color coding for Honda bearings are hard to understand sometimes. The best alternative is to have the block line bored (say at ERL) and go to "H" Race Series bearings by ACL. These should be coated of course. If you need more answers, contact me here or at dadams@calicocoatings.com

So you should spend a bunch of $$ On machine work becuase sizing up the bearings requires a bit of thought?

Retarded. We aren't working with some 1924 Model T engine here. Take the ACL's, put them in and plastigauge them and let me know what you get. I put money down that they will be fine without the need of line boring the block. And if its hard for you to look up letters and numbers on a chart, then perhaps you shouldn't be building engines to begin with.

Guys....

Also, sometimes its hard to determine, or even see the letters on the block. I almost didnt even think mine were there, until i seen them in the right light!
