4.7 fd installed in a 97 jdm itr tranny
i bought this 97 spec jdm itr tranny, and it supposely had a 4.7 fd installed into it. i heard that the 4.7fd only affects 1st 2nd and 3rd gear when installed in the 96' spec jdm itr tranny because the 4th and 5th gears are long anyways.
when i'm cruising at 80mph in 5th gear i'm around 4500, at 8000 rpm in 3rd gear i'm at 85mph, so i'm not sure if i really have a 4.7 fd, if worst comes to worst i think i'm just going to take the casing off and count the teeth

I could be wrong but by just thinking about it, It would have to affect every gear, because its your final drive. Every gear ends up turning your final drive, no matter if its 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 etc. I would think all your gears would be shorter
yeah it's just i've been getting different insights about this and my initial thought was that the final drive spins all gears just like the gear on the bike, looks like i got a 4.4 fd
